SaveMiHeart offers Telecommunicator CPR free online course

SaveMiHeart, a nonprofit initiative in Michigan to help improve survival from out of hospital cardiac arrest, is offering a free on line course for telecommunicator management of 911 cardiac arrest calls.  The self-paced, one hour course is accessible 24/7 and approved in Michigan for one course hour by the State 911 Committee_ Training Course ID#: SAV 202001A.

 

The course includes a review of the physiology of cardiac arrest, the importance of rapid recognition of cardiac arrest over the phone using the No-No-Go Method, coaching and maintaining hands only CPR until help arrives, overcoming common barriers to recognition of cardiac arrest and the importance of effective T – CPR quality programs.

 

SaveMiHeart invites you and your staff to log in and complete this course.  https://savemihearttcpr.org/.  The course is accessible to any interested person.  Michigan 911 dispatchers are eligible to receive reimbursement for a Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR course after completing the course and passing the quiz.  Please forward this course to your dispatch agency.

 

Recently, the American Heart Association announced in Circulation the AHA’s Telecommunicator CPR (T-CPR) Advisory Statement. This advisory statement takes recommendations from the previous ILCOR and AHA statements and provides necessary guidance for telecommunicators and local authorities to develop quality, effective T-CPR programs.  These  key resources support the importance of T – CPR.
